On certain CLR/OS Combinations the CLR seems to have a performance problem once we turn on a CLR Flag that we need to turn on in order to capture our memory dumps. Because of this known limitation of the MS CLR we actually say in the UI that turning on Memory Analysis increased runtime overhead.<br /><br />With that said I hope you will continue to benefit from the APM capabilities of dynaTrace. <br /><br />AndiAndreas Grabnerhttp://blog.dynatrace.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-44701746082417554902012-07-29T21:35:49.036-04:002012-07-29T21:35:49.036-04:00This had me roaring. It has really just worked for the most part. We auto generate our hbm's based on our models, and from there it's pretty much set it and forget it. The only limitation I have seen personally is some LINQ queries that look good on paper (and in LINQ pad) don't translate that well (or at all). And I don't know much about HQL, but I really don't want to either. We've had to flatten out some pieces of our models into views for performance reasons. But the argument could be made that these are edge cases.Chris Keenanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02190173698990378783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-46346864226052838872012-03-23T12:06:58.774-04:002012-03-23T12:06:58.774-04:00I forgot that you'd been using NHibernate for ...I forgot that you'd been using NHibernate for awhile. Funny, as a developer with a few years of NH experience, I'm heading in the opposite direction (currently writing an EF provider for our framework). While NH has some great features and is mature, in my experience, if your DAL is LINQ heavy, you'll suffer in the translations of some of those queries.Chris Keenanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02190173698990378783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-37034330974285523272012-02-15T10:45:42.368-05:002012-02-15T10:45:42.368-05:00I really liked your link to the article "Stop...I really liked your link to the article "Stop Multitasking". If you start up the blu-ray player with no-disc in it, there should be a menu listing both netflix (red) and pandora (green). Both would also be available from the blu-ray player menu. The both require an internet connection, and for netflix you have to go through there setup steps which involve going to their website and getting a code to then type into the blu-ray when prompted.nappisitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12557859343801158708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-13287075831998910302012-01-02T18:31:02.822-05:002012-01-02T18:31:02.822-05:00I have a Samsung BD-p1500 as well, but I don't...I have a Samsung BD-p1500 as well, but I don't know how to get Netflix to work? After closer inspection of the usercontrol I found the dropdownlist being stuffed into viewstate. In retrospect a quicker option would have been to switch back to HiddenFieldPageStatePersister, which would force serialization, and any object like the dropdownlist (or its graph) that's not serializable would throw an exception and help pinpoint the issue. You might try that first, if not, refer to Tess Fernandez's blog.nappisitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12557859343801158708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-87992966318660809242011-09-23T02:57:51.905-04:002011-09-23T02:57:51.905-04:00The procedure you used to find this would have bee...The procedure you used to find this would have been good as I suspect a similar problem in an production application we have causing problems now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-91285549661414966272011-07-06T12:25:26.157-04:002011-07-06T12:25:26.157-04:00You should share that book with your co-workers. My guess is that you probably avoided it b/c the javascript that's rendered by server controls and the MSFT AJAX library (except for the latest version) is convoluted and highly "obtrusive". It also didn't help that before ASP.NET 4 the control names when rendered were ridiculous, and one could never fully trust what an element was going to be called. Embedding a bunch of <%= Control.ClientID %> always made me uncomfortable. For me, it was the webforms model that precluded my experimentation with the drug.Chris Keenanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02190173698990378783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-56087005942567214612011-03-30T17:01:26.674-04:002011-03-30T17:01:26.674-04:00Ok, so there was one victim.Ok, so there was one victim.nappisitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12557859343801158708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5126579372546664703.post-68658346166660484722011-03-30T14:31:54.969-04:002011-03-30T14:31:54.969-04:00"almost no readership"...You were bombin..."almost no readership"...You were bombing out my Outlook RSS feeds for a week!
